about

An eerie, detuned collection of five odd tracks. Each track was created by playing two different records through the left and right channels of a stereo system at the same time. Then copper wires are strung from the speaker surfaces to contact microphones. The contact microphones pick up the vibrations and the resulting sound is incredible. The third track has this delicious rumbling, far away, tunnel-like. Drifting, but with this complex flavor and mindless demeanor. Almost primitive. And the volume, it feels like it's constantly receding but it's not. Seems to be a quality of the work. The fourth track seems to continue that background, but brings in odd, clunky, concrete sounds, like cups or jars being set on a table. Then the ghostly drones shadow in, corrugated seraphim of meaningless threat and vague discontent. A work that imbeds itself in the listeners awareness

A reworking of the first 8 Ground Fault CDs by recording the vibrations of the short, thin, copper wires through which they were replayed. One CD in each channel per track.
